Heather Seiler

When Heather Seiler was in the sixth grade and her family was dealing with some major life changes, she started tracking her food intake in an attempt to hold onto control. Calorie intake logs led to restriction and food obsession, which manifested into depression, drug abuse and self injury.

While in her 20s, after struggling with an absence of menstruation, sexual assault, and decreasing mental health, she knew she needed to make a change. When she came to Timberline Knolls, her positive relationships with roommates and professional caretakers eased tensions and provided support during stressful times, allowing Heather to focus on her recovery and accomplish milestones.

For Heather, victory means continuing to try her best even when she is struggling. She now identifies triggers and stressors in the moment using the tools she learned at Timberline Knolls. By taking back control, she’s making room for more fun in her life and her next big goal in life — starting a family with her partner.
