Joan Johnson, MAT, MAPS, BCC
Chaplain
As a Chaplain, Joan offers emotional and spiritual support to our residents and staff. She meets one-on-one with residents and facilitates groups throughout the week. Joan retired from teaching in Chicago elementary public schools at the start of the pandemic. This overlapped with the completion of her Chaplaincy education at Loyola University.
She served her residency at Advocate Healthcare during the pandemic. She has experienced the challenges of a changing healthcare system over the years and believes science and art work together to build connections that help create a new, whole life. She and her husband are lifelong Chicagoans. They enjoy hiking the oak forests and ravines in Palos Hills. Meditation has changed her life by helping her to reset and recharge each day.
