Residential Treatment Program for Women & Girls

Timberline Knolls provides age-appropriate residential programming for adolescent girls and adult women. Our residential program is a safe and inclusive environment where all are welcomed and supported.

Benefits of Residential Programming

Residential programming at Timberline Knolls offers many benefits for girls and women, including:

  • Individualized services: When you enter our residential program, you will complete a thorough evaluation and receive a unique plan to guide your care. Your team will monitor your progress and update your plan as necessary throughout your time with us.
  • Round-the-clock care: Members of your team will be available 24/7 to provide support and guidance whenever you need help.
  • Safe and supportive residential environment: When you take part in our residential program, you will live in one of six lodges. This promotes a sense of community and allows you to share support with others whose experiences and goals are similar to yours.

Once you complete our residential program, you will have a lifetime membership in our alumnae program, which can be a vibrant source of ongoing support.

Elements of Care

Our focus on individualized service means that no two girls or women will have identical experiences at Timberline Knolls. Your care in our residential program will be guided by a unique plan that reflects and addresses your specific strengths, needs, and goals.

Depending on those factors, your plan may include ambulatory, nonmedical detoxification; medication management; basic medical services; and individual, group, family, and experiential therapies

A typical day in our residential program includes multiple group sessions, including experiential, psychoeducational, and process groups. Topics that may be addressed include coping skills, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, and food discovery. Experiential groups may include recreational activities, yoga, dance and movement, and supervised outings.

During an average week, most girls and women take part in individual therapy sessions and family session. The frequency of these types of sessions may be adjusted based on what’s best for you.

If you have been struggling with your relationship with food, you may also participate in dietary consultations and receive monitoring and support services during meals and snacks.

Your Team

While you are in our residential program, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals. These compassionate experts are committed to providing individualized services in a supportive and respectful manner.

Depending on your unique needs, your team may include medical doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, counselors, therapists, dietitians, nutritionists, behavioral health associates, and other professionals as needed.

Taking part in residential programming at Timberline Knolls is not a passive experience. Your team will encourage you to share your thoughts and insights, provide honest feedback, ask questions, and express any concerns you’re having.

Your time in our residential program will be relatively brief. But the care you receive, the skills you develop, and the lifestyle changes you make will have lifelong benefits. Your team will empower you to play an active role in the process so that you will be prepared to make continued progress after you’ve transitioned out of residential programming.
